Third Stops the Charm

Today was ANOTHER travel day. We went to three gardens, each one 1 hour and 45 minutes away from each other, and we stayed at each one for at least two hours. So basically everyone just slept all day and looked at flowers in between naps.

I didn't like the first garden we went to, Giverny, it was the garden that inspired  Monet. There was no organization and all the plants were just dumped and over flowing. Pretty! But I was not inspired.

This was a street that I thought was pretty 😊

After a two hour bus ride it started raining at the next garden. Almost no one brought a good, heavy coat to stay warm so it was not the most pleasant experience. I brought a coat and boots thank goodness but even I was still cold with that. This garden was less stressful than the last one and more organized, but it looked like the neighborhood, Chimney Springs. It had a lake with a path around it, an open field, some clusters of trees, and no flowers just woodland stuff. But nature rocks it was still cool!!

The last two hour bus ride took us to chateau de vaux le vicomte and it was SO PRETTY!!!! We were there for five hours and got to walk around the grounds and inside the house. Inside the house was definitely my favorite because it was staged to look like how people lived when the house was occupied. I think with some air conditioning, indoor plumbing, and maybe an TV and microwave, I could definitely see myself living here!

At night they lit candles all throughout the grounds. In France it's so strange, the sun doesn't set until 10:00 pm. It was twilight when we could walk around the candle lit grounds and it was beautiful. For dinner we had weird cafeteria food that cost way more money than it was worth, but the always dependable bread and butter were quite good.

On the ride back we had to listen to some "over-served" classmates shout about nothing and be obnoxious. Eventually they went to sleep which meant so could everyone else. The bed in our hotel is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. The pillows are clouds and the comforter is puffy and incredibly soft. Time to sleep and get ready for tomorrow, we are going to see Versailles and the Eiffel Tower!!

Bonnuit!

P.S. - I understand zero French. Absolutely none.
